2026 ASHRAE Presidential Initiative Project Donation

Cedar Valley ASHRAE’s partnership with Engineers Without Borders at Iowa State University has led to winning applications in the 2024-2025 ASHRAE Decarbonization Challenge and 2026 ASHRAE Presidential Initiative Challenge. This student-professional team has provided support to the Ullo-Dantie Community in northwest Ghana. Ullo is a remote community, with subsistence farming serving as the primary form of local economic activity. The team’s latest project will be to complete a new Kindergarten Center for the Ullo Community, providing education that is currently lacking for kids aged 4-5. A two-classroom building will be fit out to host classes and a fully plumbed restroom building will be constructed adjacent to the classrooms. Innovative HVAC concepts will be used to promote student health and productivity, including passive cooling techniques and air filtration. Your support will help bring this vision to life and expand its impact!
